Perhaps strange to put loss with new life, but it is the cycle of life and love that keeps us striving forward. Due to Odin’s life example, I can never stop loving. He never has. Perhaps we are in another “heartbreak” breed. But how do you know your soul is mended without heartbreak first? |
|
Three “Great” souls who are no more. The black is “Hope”, the blue merle is “Faith”, and the harlequin... well, we had planned on a girl named “Charity”, but this boy named “Odin” stole our hearts away. Great Danes are a wonderful, funny, loving, and lovable breed.... but their lives are too short. No wonder they are often called “the heartbreak breed”. |

One of our trio of Great Danes, “Odin” was a priceless treasure. He blessed our lives for only eight short years, dying 12/15/98. He was impossibly large (37” at the shoulder, 192 pounds on the vet’s scales). His blue eyes could see into your soul, but his big heart accepted what he saw. The space he left cannot be filled. His “father” cries as he types this. Odin will never be forgotten. His love remains with us, as our love does for him. |

“Suzie”, our first chocolate horsecoat rescue girl, died of a liver tumor resulting from aflatoxin poisoning. She lived to be a lively 12 years of age. Her energy and love is sorely missed, but her spirit lives on. |
|
“Justice”, our black brushcoat rescue boy. Passed Feb.18, 01 in the comfort and love of his human parent’s bed. He had been with us since 1995; not nearly long enough! |
